Hello All,

Well the February tournament went well with summer like temperatures although it ran very slow, more on that in a minute. The President Cup matches are underway with a couple of them played this last tournament An updated bracket is in this newsletter. The March tournament originally listed as a partners match is now just a low net tournament and the April
tournament originally slated for April 20 is now April 27.

After Sunday's tournament round the Knollwood Asst Mgr, Brian, spoke with me about the  Men's Club recent slow play in our tournaments. He told me that we are averaging 5 1/2 to 5 3/4 (hrs) to finish which is not acceptable to them or us for that matter. The obvious problems this causes is that it delays all the players that follow our tournament and it leaves them 

short handed on golf carts. In our defense, last Sunday the 1st tee time (7:00) didn't tee off until 7:20 and I made him aware of that and he told me they would monitor that going forward. He also mentioned that if we can't fix this problem then our tournaments will be scheduled later in the morning which we definitely don't want. One change we will be making is that there are no solo riders in carts which has been happening a lot lately which is one reason they are running out of carts for those that follow us. The exception will be if your group has 3 walkers and 1 rider then a single in the cart is unavoidable but other than that carts will be shared going forward. Also in the future I think we should have a rotating volunteer that logs on the \first tee the actual times our groups are teeing off. Bottom line is we can play faster without rushing our round in any way and  play at a good pace and keep everyone happy.
